Soap based shampoo bars are a great all natural and sustainable alternative to shampoo in a bottle. Apple Cider Vinegar and Lemon Juice are great additions to a soap based shampoo when you want a gentle, thorough clean. Tree Mint is bright with Tea Tree and Peppermint.
Never tried a soap based shampoo? We suggest you grab a conditioning bar and a cleansing bar, and see what works best for you. Give it a couple weeks, often hair has to adjust to a new cleansing routine!
SPECIAL:
We didn’t catch that the mold used for this batch of Tree Mint Shampoo was 3/8” wider than our usual molds, so we have 40 bars of shampoo that don’t fit into our regular shampoo boxes. We also ended up printing on the wrong shape stickers. Sigh.
Ok, we think. Here’s an opportunity to save it all: use the too-big soap boxes, transfer the oops labels, and drop those wide bars in on their side for a quirky salvaged presentation. Is this our most beautiful work? Nah. Did this keep us from tossing 40 bars of shampoo, pages of labels, and a stack of wonky boxes? You betcha. We thrive on embracing the imperfection and finding a pretty-good solution. That’s the real trick to sustainability - it doesn’t have to be perfect to make an impact.
Instructions for use: Soak your hair entirely, and wet the bar. Work up a lather in your hands and apply lather to hair starting at the scalp, or hold the bar in your hand and gently apply shampoo bar to scalp directly, focusing on the roots especially for long hair.
Each bar contains Apple Cider Vinegar to rinse cleanly. Add an ACV rinse at the end once a week to lock in shine: mix 1 part raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with 5 parts water and pour over your scalp and hair after shampooing. Massage gently for 2-5 minutes and rinse with cool water. Follow with A Light Blend or B Creamy Blend conditioner bar if needed.
Please note, if you have color-treated or henna-treated hair, you may want to test this product in an inconspicuous area as it may affect hair coloring.
